The principal features of this machine are its abilities to automatically produce a correctly formed, radial relief point on all drills in its diameter range WITH independent
adjustments by scale settings for varying point angles, clearance and chisel angles.

The amount of material to be removed is adjustable (from 005" to .250" preset on a graduated scale. The automatic heavy in feed gradually decreases to a very light final cut. This gives maximum material removal in minimum time leaving an ideal point surface without burn or local cracking.

The automatic oscillation of the grinding head evenly distributes the wear over the wheel surface, extending grinding life and ensuring a level point The length of stroke is adjustable, to gain maximum advantage of wheel surface for different types of drills. Wheel dressing is a simple operation built into the machine.

ACCURACY
• Holding method ensures centered,
equal lip heights even if flute index is inaccurate
• Radial relief drill point and surface
best for must applications
• Radial Relief Point gives adequate
clearance with maximum strength to the cutting lip

SIMPLICITY
• Set to drill diameter
• Set material amount to be removed
• Point angles and relief to scale settings
• Press cycle start button for automatic
feed, oscillation, spark-out

VERSATILITY
• Sharpens 2, 3, 4 flute drills
• Easy change over size to size
• All geometry variable and by scales
• H.S.S. and Carbide

SPEED
• Fast, easy change over
drill to drill and lip to lip
• Fastest possible metal removal for
surface finish and accuracy
• Wet grind for speed and surface finish

WIDE RANGE
• 5/16" through 3" diameters
• 2, 3,4 flutes
• O.A.L. to 39"

Features of Operation:

1.AUTO FEED SETTING permits selection of amount of material to be removed from cutting lip .250" to .005".

2. AUTO FEED CONTROL set to drill diameter to give fastest possible grind with optimum surface finish and maximum regrinds between wheel dressing.

3. MANUAL FEED HANDWHEEL Used to spark drill on wheel before initiating auto feed.

4. PUSH BUTTON OPERATION for drill and grinding wheel oscillation, feed and wheel dress cycle.

5. DRILL DIAMETER SETTING the drill is set according to its diameter to automatically give the correct point geometry and simplify the machine usage.

6. CHISEL AND POINT ANGLES< are set by scale.

7. JAW DRILL HOLDING UNIT< provides rapid change over, drill to drill and lip to lip and this holding method assumes a correctly centered point.

8. WHEEL DRESSER, built in with automatic cycle.

The Superior Drill Holding Method requires only two pairs of jaw bits lo hold all two flute drills from 5/16" through 3" diameter.

The drill is positioned by the tailstock center and gripped by the two self-centering jaws. These jaws are located inside the flute and behind the land (as Illustrated).

This method of locating and holding ensures a correctly centered point or step angle, even if original flute indexing of the drill were Inaccurate, and also prevents any damage to the lands of the drill
